The scholarship award amount is up to $1,300 per recipient for up to 2 recipients.

The AstroGirls Scholarship Fund was created to send young girls from underrepresented minorities to Space Camp. Space Camp is an educational camp in Huntsville, Alabama, on the grounds of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Museum at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. It provides residential and educational programs for children on themes such as space exploration, aviation and robotics. Students even get to conduct experiments with real astronauts throughout the week-long camp. As a little girl, I always wanted to attend Space Camp. And now as a professional in the aerospace industry, I have the opportunity to inspire and support the next generation of students that look like me.

The current cost to register for the week-long camp is $1,099. Thus, the AstroGirls Scholarship aims to cover the full registration cost and other miscellaneous expenses such as transportation.

Eligibility

Young girls that will be between the ages of 9-14 during the camp period are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

This scholarship is open to any young girl that is interested, but underrepresented minorities will be given preference.

Confirmation of a complete camp registration is required in order for the award funds to be disbursed.
